Does anyone have a picture of their bracket for putting a duel master cylinder on a single master cylinder Jeep? I would like to upgrade my 64 Jeep. Thanks. Rick

I might be able to do one better. Pretty sure I have the bracket from a 71. It uses the dual MC with the bale-type hold down for the lid. PM me if interested.

Thanks Howard, Mike and Tim, wish I would have done this before I put my body back on my Jeep. My 10" brakes work OK, but I bought a set of 11" drums and backing plates complete, and want to upgrade to a duel master cylinder and 11" front and 10" rear brakes. Just collecting parts for now, Thanks again for all the help Guys, Rick

How are the reservoirs mounted on the firewall? Did you cut a hole in the gasket to MC?

I installed a dual MC using Herm's bracket. I ran into a number of issues and helped Herm source the line adapters.

If I had to do it over again, I would go with Howard's design. It looks easier to install, appears to avoid pushrod issues and is better suited to a remote reservoir.

I made a bracket that bolts to the upper firewall. Yes, I cut a (small) hole in the rubber "liner" of the lid. Put the fitting in the hole I drilled in the lid/cover,
sealed it with RTV and sandwiched it in with a fender washer and a nut.

This is the bracket in my 69. I'll get a better shot of it when I get it out. I'm installing Herm's 11 inch drum and master cylinder kits. I will need to use the original since it also supports the clutch pedal.

Can you post the pic here? I'm morally opposed to any site that wants me to sign in to look a t a pic. ;)

I'm going to guess yes, the new plunger rod with the new MC is about two inches longer and goes into the cylinder. I also noticed that the holes in the new bracket for the bolts are smaller than the originals. So, the original MC fits in the new bracket, but the new MC doesn't fit in the old bracket unless I make the holes larger, which is no big deal. Other than that I see no reason not to use the original bracket if it's in good shape, plus I don't have to cut the original bracket and drill four more holes in the frame.

By the way, Welcome from Michigan, Thanks for the pictures, that helps a lot. I am trying to get as much together as I can before I start, to make it a smooth upgrade, and my Jeep isn't down any longer than it has to be. After I get the duel MC done I want to go to 11" brakes on the front. I got a complete set from another Member. Thanks again, Rick
