Adapter between transmission and transfer case are different between T-18 and T-19 due to cluster gear and reverse idler gear shafts being in a different location. Not much, but enough that the T-18 factory adapter won't fit without machine work. Plus the T-19 adapter has no provision for a mount. Most aftermarket adapters are built to accommodate both transmissions. Output shafts are different as well and will not interchange due to location of snap ring grooves being different.
3 ratios available for the T-19. 4.02-1 same as close ratio T-18's 5 something-1, and 6.32-1 same as wide ratio T-18's. The most uncommon is actually the 5-1. The 6.32-1 version is low enough geared you almost have to be stopped to shift down into first anyway as to really make not much difference.

Watching the Packer game right now. A couple of uncles had a hard night last night, so things are quiet right now.

This is not fair. Where is the pleasure if you can easily go to 1st?

Some machines have quite no clutch, I remember driving an old truck in which I had to listen carefully to the engine to change gear with a double action, neutral, adapt rotation and gear. But a friend of mine adept of "sport" driving showed me to change gears not touching the clutch pedal.... like in a race. There is a risk...:madwife:

I never used a clutch to shift gears in my dumptruck transmission. The clutch was only used to put it in whatever gear i wanted to start in. It had a 12 speed roadranger.

X2. We had a L8000 at work with one. Liked driving it as long as I wasn’t plowing snow. Then it was less fun.

If that was the case, it would have an auto trans. Being we are not looking for a granny gear, a wide ratio Super T10 or Muncie M20 might fit the situation. Both shift great and 1st gears not much different than the T90A.

I’ve decided to use the T14 because I already have it. I’m going to take a shot at making an adapter. I think this transmission will work the best with the overdrive and 5.38 gears.

This is an interesting subject. Most people don't play with a gearbox. My son likes sport driving but with automatic transmission or changing gears on the steering wheel. No clutch. In fact very few people like to change gears in the old way. People are different.

I had a 1927 Rolls Royce Phantom I Beater that my Grandmother gave us when we first got married in 67. It had a Perkins P-6 Diesel in it with the factory four speed mid-ship transmission. It didn't have any synchronizers at all in it, I had to double clutch every gear, after a while it was just natural to double clutch, and I could go back to first while still rolling. [IMG]
