First thread getting long so hear goes part 2.
Bell fits, all bolts and dowels except 1 o-clock.
And maybe some starter clearencing ?
    Measurements.
6-5/8 crank flange, where flywheel lays to back of bell.
6-7/16 crank snout, where pilot would be to back of bell.
3/4 beginning of hole in crank where pilot would be.
Ok, time for help figuring out how to adapt?

    Crank coming out.
Gonna pressure wash block, before machine shop deck, and maybe hone?
    Crank polish,
But do I drill for pilot?
Will the input be long enough to reach a pilot in crank? 15400843698521044706091.jpg

I think you'll need to remove the studs at the crank flange. They're necessary on a marine motor for the coupler, but will more than likely get in your way with a clutch, throwout bearing etc.

I'll remove studs, may need different length bolt if I have to use
A flywheel pilot instead of a crank pilot .
What about the t90 input, will it be long enough to reach crank, with 3/4
    Adapter installed ?

Ok, I've read the stick out on the 90 is 7.5in(ant taking mine out till this thing is ready).
I got 6.5in to pilot snout, so without an adapter I could drill crank for pilot?
But with the adapter,3/4in,I'll need to make a pilot holder to center in flywheel?
I've ordered a stock pilot, to take to mach shop, so they can drill crank?
Any way to mod my bell so no adapter is needed?
Theirs not much meat where it would bolt up ,On this alum bell?
Maybe a cast, or steel bell?
Or weld some alum tabs where it would bolt?
Losing the adapter would help keep the engine from going under the radiator!
    Ideas, opinions?
Or do they make a Chevy to t90 adapting bell?

Let's decide on how to put a pilot in this thing?
With the 3/4 n adapter, I'll have bout 1/4in of input shaft in crank(if my measurements are anywhere
close), thats not enough pilot support.
So how bout a press in flywheel bushing to hold a second(or part of a second) pilot?
Or a press in with a slight flange to set depth?
Or a more complicated bolt in pilot holder?
Excuse my art, I could have taken an hour and drew or up right, but u all get my idea?
PS I'm drilling my crank for a pilot if the shop can.
Ps-2, is the input shaft that they sell to adapt, longer or shorter! If adapting to the 4cyl and not the v6?
Ps-3 what bout the v6 bell? Is it v8 pattern, what depth is it?
This would all fab up(pilot in crank) if the t90 would bolt up without a adapt?

    A1 was my favorite!
My home brew piston soak, to melt carbon,(dexron atf with brake fluid, bout 50-50)
    Takes couple or 3 days.
So what kind of stock do I need for pilot holder?
    Alum, or steel?
Alum would swell more under heat to prevent coming loose under vibration!
    Got a a buddie with a lathe. (Hope he's a buddie) lol
Had it on stove couple hours, it's melting away.

Oil lite bronze is the only material to make it from. Do not make it from steel or aluminum.

What clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and release arm will you run? My long shaft to gm has a gm input snout for the gm pilot bearing and arm to pivot in the bellhousing.

I'd do it in two parts- a steel disk press fitted into the flywheel & drilled to accept a proper pilot bearing.

A pilot Holder, not the pilot itself.
I'll let my buddie with the lathe help decide.

The pressure plate is Ford 80s something mustang. The disk , I'll have to get the
parts store guy to help find?
The throw out bearing, will have to be determined as I get it mocked up?
Possibly a gm unit to match a gm arm?

There are extended pilot bushings Advance adapters has them, sure available through other sources. My T18 to gm bell had one due to adapter thickness ( done years ago, if I did it today I'd just drill the bell)

Anybody got a t90 out of a 134 , out of jeep, so it can be measured!
Need stick out from where it bolts up? (I've heard 7, and 7.5)
Also need the tip length and dia, where it goes in pilot? ( .59, .59)
I've found some pilots that go in flywheel, but don't know what size to look for?
    Thanks

I can't help but pose this question again. It pains me to see you do this much work to adapt a small boat anchor of a transmission behind that engine. It's not only weak for this motor, it also shares mounting patterns with nothing else to upgrade to later.

You're already starting with a Chevy pattern, why not put an SM465 or 420 (or even a Muncie or Saginaw car trans) and never have to touch it again?

I'm not trying to be annoying or a jerk, I'm just speaking as a guy who's blown up enough T-90s with a lot less power than that, to want to save other people the headaches.
