    OK guys I am stumped
my google foo isn't that good
was trying to wire DJ (78) turn signal switch . wires just don't correspond to what I am familiar with
    can't find color codes anywhere
    CAM00639.jpg
    before pigtail CAM00637.jpg
    have (1) orange . (2) black - same socket . (1) gray . (2) yellow - same socket .(1) green .
    CAM00638.jpg two pig tails . (1) white . (1) brown .

I am usually good at wiring but this one has me stumped :study:

Dumb question... Did you try matching it to your Jeep? Are they different? Both probably use 1157 bulbs... Right?

no I understand all that . just haven't figured out what wire does what . after going home and thinking about it .
this is my buddy 55 project
1 bring my own meter . I think his was throwing me off . all wires tested continuity with each other
2 unplug pig tail and test wires out of column . there was a few wires on column that didn't transfer to plug . brake/flasher maybe
3 didn't notice if the DJ had separate turn signals . but looking at pictures on internet . it did . hopefully the turn signal switch still has a brake wire that wasn't connected
    I'll figure it out .
what I know is from past experiences 7 or 8 wires

    LF
    RF
    LR
    RR
    Horn
    Brake
    Flasher
    4W Flasher (sometimes)

Do you have a 12 volt power supply? I think those are great for sending power to the bulbs per wire to help me determine which wire does which function.

yep brought my own . and a test light . did that before I cut the old switch out of harness
I know what wires go forward and which go to rear (signal / brakes)

the white box to left in first picture . sitting on well used manual  is the box for power supply . I agree it nice to have . FIL donated it to me
it helps me follow that invisible stuff :D

success . figured out why all wires were linked
4 way switch in on position :study:

    two separate wires on harness
two flashers needed . (1) turn signal (2) 4 way

and figured out that even though it was a DJ . still had a brake wire on switch itself (not used). just didn't transfer to pig tail plug to vehicle (y)
so the brake and turn can be linked
