    appreciate it!!!

I'm really pleased with the fit and the look..
should finish up the drivers door today.
Some attention needs to be given to the stock holes in the windshield frame.. but its almost car wash ready!!

Holy _ _ _ _! I came back to your build because I forgot where you got your steering box brace from, and then I see this top! Its like your Jeep lives in Beverly Hills and mine lives under a freeway overpass in Watts. Very nice job! I would ask what the production top cost might be, but if I have to ask...yada yada yada.
Beautiful work on the whole rig.

so a little update on the Jeep and the Top....

    Jeep:
have some few odds and ends to tidy up.. Tire carrier was altered and needs paint, top hinges need paint or coating..

    Top:
the CJ6 fiberglass hardtop is now a production item of Rally Tops..
they worked with me (on my dime) to produce a CJ6 hardtop and doors for the all 55-75 CJ's
you might recognize their top model

Rally Tops Quality Hardtop for Jeep CJ6 with Door Inserts (1955-1981)

I can review the top if people are interested.. to be honest.. it wasn't seen much weather or anything to be honest.
Jeep is still "away" for the winter.

this Jeep was built with the intention of sending out west... so chances are it will be in Cali at some point..
Still thinking about the Rubicon with some west coast ECJ5 peeps.. just working on logistics..

That is nice. Price is about what I would expect. You might tell them to change the 1955-1981 on their website to 1955-1975. I can't wait to hear how weather tight it is (or isn't). It has a lot of things going for it even if it leaks a little bit.

Never have done the Rubicon although it isn't that far from me. I know guys who have and it sounds like there are paths around a lot of the really tough stuff. Not sure I would take anything as nice (and as long, and as aluminum) as your rig up there anyway. If you do, I might have to dust off the 45 GPW and join you.

when I pull it out of storage I plan on heading right to the carwash..
I suspect the windshield will be the main culprit of water infiltration... all those poor spot welds and rather large gaps of aftermarket frames...
the top is solid and seals very well.. door jams and A and B pillar seals are addressed properly..
Door gutters direct water back and top lip comes up and over like the Meyer steel...

Heat and AC efficiency a major plus with the headliner and insulation...

I think the price is really fair.. for what some of the Meyer tops are going for, weight savings, doors, ease of removal, etc.. well worth it if you got the money and space.. If I was just after weather protection I would have kept my soft top.. my main deciding factor, other than to help create something that didn't exist, was security.. I want to be able to leave and lock.. plus be able remove in 20/30 min.

    Weather tested!!!!
had some SIGNIFICANT rain and hail this past weekend...
have to report I am very pleased with the tops performance and fit..
not a lot of wind noise @75 mph (above a healthy V8) and fogging was really minimal.
doors are hard to see side mirrors out of and I don't have a rearview because of the height of my spare tire.
Kids loved it... they were like caged beasts back there..

There was some pooling on the front foot wells.. I cant really determine if its from the "A" pillar door jam or the windshield seal I had to sand down.. either way, not much of a concern for anything shy of torrential downpours. I will be adding a floor drain or 2 since the fully welded and lined tub could easily be a rowboat..

    on a more sobering note...
took me 6 months to finally get in there and install a resistor...
in theory this is why I was chewing up ICM's... thought that ghost was gone until this weekend..
when I went to pull truck in garage I had a no start... ICM again..
Going to spend some time with a voltmeter and wire diagram tonight... cant possibly see what's wrong..

    Great report.

My OCD says to tuck in the blue wire to match the length of the red wire.

oh believe me.. I'm crazy about wiring...
this was done on the fly to drive it home.. assuming I would tidy it all up after testing ok..

bad thing is it didn't test ok
good thing is I can make the wire length and color the same now :)

Your build looks incredible! One question, where did you find your shift boots? Especially the transfer case? Thanks

Did you bend the shifter or they come like that?

i'm about to finish this part on my jeep. Mine are for a dana 20. I need cut trought the floor to get the front stick to come out, would prefer to bent to pass them without cutting. but i just don't know if the shifting will be the same or harder because of the angle of the shifter.
