I mounted my windshield on my body after my restoration (I now have 20 miles on it:D) and it seems a bit loose. I can't move the hook down any further on the dash. The hook has room to move down more, but the holes in the dash aren't big enough to allow for that. I am currently using the original cowl seal, but it seems fine. Has anyone run into this issue? My windshield angle seems right to me.

I am using a walcks dash, but it looks exactly like the old ones I discarded.

    Here is a picture [IMG]

    Thoughts?

    Common problem.

Usually the answer lies in the thickness of the rubber cowl gasket strip.
You can replace it or shim it. I have used a small pad under each hinge area to tighten things up in a pinch.

Shim or new seal. You could enlarge the holes but I would try the shims first.

Thanks guys. I'll try shimming between the seal and the windshield (vented BTY).

It has 6 shift levers - T90, D18 twin stick, Warn OD, and Ramsey DP-1. It feels good to brag a bit. I've been working on it for to many years.

This is an awesome Jeep and as far as shifters, you win!!

I love the longitudinal rear seats. Did you build them? I want a pair.

    We need more pictures!!

I just bought a Walck's dash. (Still have to paint it)
I shall see if this issue happens to me. I do have a brand new windshield to cowl seal. Very beautiful cj6!!

I was surprised at how quiet my Jeep got when I finally put a new cowl gasket under the windshield. It tightened the windshield and all the rattles went away. Nice Jeep looks great.

Those seats are the only thing not stock on the jeep. I tried to no avail to get a set of original 6 longitudinal seats. My current seats are from an FJ40 and fit perfect after a bit of modification for mounting. Those were hard enough to find for a reasonable price.

I'm still looking for the real deal.

Look at the Land Rover 109/Defender 110 (Euro only) for a source of adaptable longitudinal seats too.

Being of limited income and having a tad bit of imagination, I used matchbook covers as shims under the levers themselves. Doesn't take much to snug them up.

You might look into Toy Land Cruiser rear seats.
