Spent the week of Thanksgiving in Moab with family... great time playing on the trails with the old Jeeps.

FYI: that's my '55, a stock '48, and an absolutely not stock SBC 4WD Jeepster. Definitely a Jeep family.

I love Moab, looks like a fun time and you brought a portable wall tent garage for the 55 :)

Best upgrade to the CJ yet... braided steel brake lines to replace the old rubber sections. Much more solid pedal and noticeable difference in the braking power for $60. The kit bolted right in with no issues.

Finally found a solution for getting the gas heater to vent through the firewall cleanly... these are 3.5" boat header reducers... worked perfectly..

Also began getting my antenna set up for the CB... keeping it period-correct, so we're going military. AB15 antenna on the way.

Just what I needed to hear on those brake lines. Doing mine soon and I was debating.

Seen a Jeep with a metal roof where the guy shot a commercial type foam insulation all over the in-side walls and roof.........not the extreme expanding type but a more controlled product that required a few coats......ended up about 1.5" thick everywhere and when painted looked very good..........

I did the Toyota starter swap. Very pleased. It cranks way faster and it was a fraction of the price.

Mine has 3 hoses. You just used one of the long ones for the back?

Did yours have the copper S lines in the front?

Could I ask you to measure the hoses? Mine is a 64.

Yours should have 4 hoses... one to each axle, and one to each front wheel. What copper S lines are you referring to? If it's the coiled piece between the rubber hose and the brake drum, then yes.

Mine is later than yours. Tubing from the master cylinder, forward on the frame, then left and right to brackets on the side frame rails, then hoses to each front wheel.
Tubing, back along the left frame rail, then across to the middle of the body, then one hose down to the center of the rear axle, then tubing to the backing plate on each side/
There are junction blocks here and there along the way. FSM shows it that way for later models. I emailed the fellow you bought yours from to get some custom made.
    Thanks

Well, we're back... updates will be coming as I continue to make silly mods to this Jeep. Oh yeah, and we got a trailer.
