Special order tag? The paint and trim tag should say 999 for the Renegade colors. Pretty sure this should be a foil tag like this -

I's just thick foil that's glued on (thus they are usually gone). The numbers are stamped (embossed) into the foil. There's likely a company that advertises in Hemming's that makes such parts.

Then you'll have the same VIN plate as all the other production CJ-5s, AFAIK. ... But I'm not the world's expert on the Ren 1 and 2.

There is a guy several of us here have used to reproduce vin tags that have been lost or destroyed. With a search I'm sure you can find him. He does very nice reproduction work. If I can find contact info, I'll add it.

    Good morning honeywell41.

I do have the tags shown up above. I thought there was a special order tag, with assembly line # possibly. I'd like to chat with you, tlwidtfeldt@gmail.com thanks

My RII did not have any special order tag, just the paint and trim tag Tim talked about with the 999 numbers. As far as I know the RI and RII were not special order, just different models then the regular CJ5. My VIN plate is just like all the rest. I always thought "special order" were ones made for a specific customer and had non normal for that model items on it.
I.E. XYZ company orders 5 CJ5's with 2 spares, all street tires and no seats. Those 5 in the production line would then have a "special order tag"
That has always been my understanding of special order tags but I could be wrong.

There was a Special Order tag about the same size as the vin tag. I have a picture of one. It says "This Vehicle Manufactured By Kaiser Jeep Corporation Automotive Division Special Sales Order No. D-5090". PM me and i will send a pic of it.
