So you're have gone from the 27 spline outers to 19 spline.

What about the hub? did you change them to internal one?

I went from 27 spline jeep inners to 30 spline ....the outer hubs I had already changed from jeep to early bronco internal spline hubs ,,,no more stupid broken hub bolts for me ......the new axles all have d44 size joints also and they fit in a d30 .I had to get a early TJ oil seals since they ran a d44 that had small d30 seals but d44 thick axles .... does that make sence?

Really nice welds on the steering arm. That's a bad a$$ looking axle. Did you have to open up the center hole on the steering knuckles to get the u-joint section of the axle to slide in there? I had to on mine, just a touch. Nice job!

well they were really close but still a no go mostly at the casting and once I installed the joints the corners of the caps stuck out. I machined them down with my 10" cut off . i asked around and I didn't open the hole because the spindle to knuckle is a press fit and by taking away material there then all the pressure is on the 6 little bolts ......I'd love to in crease the bolt size there but there is not enough material in the knuckle

It's not what I'd call a true "press fit" on the spindles. There is a load on the spindles, but it's not torsional. I opened up my center holes slightly. The axles were still a tight fit through the knuckle. I don't recall my end caps protruding out, but they might. I was working off the assumption that if I wheel hard trails, eventually I may have to replace one of those u-joints so I can get back home and I won't need a grinder to do it. I've been running my front end like this for 4 years with 35's and wheel spacers and haven't had an issue yet. Actually I'd be willing to bet that the tight fit on the ridge that goes into the knuckle has more to do with maintaining "center" than any kind of strength issue. But, and you can check with my wife on this, I may be wrong, it's happened before. ;)

I remember reading something about being able to put dana 44 knuckles on a CJ dana 30. If you still have those dana 44s that might be an option. Did you get a tig welder? Those welds look really good.

my old MTRs are still great tires and are getting pretty old and cracking ,they were made in 03...... I got a great deal on these new style MTRs I couldn't pass it up.
If I did make the 'con this yr ,I can flat tow a little more comfortably.

finally got my new tires on ,,,, same type of tire going from old MTRs to new tread syle ,,,,much taller and about 3/4" wider on the same rims .... I need to trim out a bit if front inner fenders and maybe ? add a 1" wheel spacer. but on the fence on that ,I've heard not good things about using them
