I like it. Looks like a fun rig. Looking forward to a build thread. If it were me, factory op. or not, I'd have to do something else with the tail lights. Aside from that, I dig it.

Galvanizers usually run on a minimum dip charge..
I was charged $250 for the frame and crossmember..

I was going to throw in some land rover parts I have and some other nick knacks I wanted galvanized, but I failed to get organized in time..

I’m sure I will be going back with other things…

Total weight I was charged for was around 180lbs

The bright patina will dull over time.. to what I think is a rather attractive color (for a frame)

The pickle the steel in acid before dipping so it was cleaned as well…

Definitely the most cost effective way to protect a frame long term in my opinion, plus it’s something different..

I am not getting on this forum enough lately! I'm guessing that you are at Frontier Galvanizing, judging from your address and the looks of the facility. I've had them dip stuff for me before, and they were reasonable. The first CJ frame I ever built from scratch is still going strong (and will be at Butler, PA) a decade after the fact. It's been driven in salt, wheeled on a weekly basis, and been abused and neglected. Still rust free. Some of the stuff I've brought wouldn't fit in Frontier's kettle, so I started using V&S Galvanizing in Lebanon, or the guy near Utica NY (can't remember his name). Guy near Utica really does first class work, but all 3 were good. I'll be following this forum. As a side note, you can have the tub dipped you know, I've done an International Fleetstar cab. Roof is a bit whippy and wavy, but the lifespan is what attracted me to doing it. Properly prepped, paint sticks well, contrary to old wives tales. Enjoy your -6!

Keep in mind that the chain links will be all kind of stuck to each other. You'll have to break them loose. I plan on going to V&S galvanizing this summer, around July with my 9 ton equipment trailer, getting the whole thing dipped. I'll take whatever you need if you are close by.
