Dauntless Oilbath aircleaner decal

Walt thought I start a new thread about this so...

There has been discussions about the Dauntless decals (and when mine gets repainted it will have them not liking that green) but I haven't seen anything about this one on the oilbath aircleaner. (yes its original (1967)we picked it out at the factory (1968 )it was a test/concept Jeepster and the dealer had to bring it up to Mt. Clemens for us to pick it up) I know its not much anyone have something better???

I haven't posted a pic in awhile...if ive done it wrong have patients please.

Doesn't really look like a decal, more like it was painted on. Have not seen that on my air cleaner, which is a later V6 as it also has the air pump pipe on it. Interesting....I'll check again more closely as I just recently acquired mine.
Inquiring minds so want to know where you got the little red breather part and the hose to it as well...

 

The little red part was probably silver originally..LOL Just give a nod to the late 60's and early 70's dad had red paint/reddish orange under coating. (yes, they made spay undercoating in a color other than black back then) notice the inside mirror and the spring/shakles(inner fenders also)LOL This one just for kicks part of the interior "fashion" bar (from the factory)and a mount for a soft half top

The air cleaner looks to me like an AC Delco unit from an earlier model year Buick or Chevy. Is that an almost completely worn AC logo to the bottom right of the service instructions? If so, here is a place to start looking for decals:

Could be the Jeep air cleaner and equivalent AC unit are very close, sure looks like mine w/out the air pump fitting. The only decal on mine is the Dauntless. I should note the early A100 Dodge Van oil bath air cleaners will fit the stock Dauntless carb as well.

 

Looking at my dauntless air cleaner on the shelf, and I have the same sticker on it. It is in about the same condition and I can not make out most the wording, but it is there. My dauntless came out of a CJ5.

 

My 1969 Cj5 came from the factory with a Dauntless V6 valve cover decal on the front of the oil bath aircleaner just like the one in the pictures on 67jeepsters thread.

My '66 32kmiDauntless has that AC and sticker. I can take a picture and send it to you if needed. So far no reproductions of that decal have turned up. Your red breather is black on mine.

A picture of the text would be great! I can make a reproduction...but only if I know what it says, I'm kinda missing a few words. And the red/orange on the Jeepster was a 70's dad thing. Could you either post a pic or email one to toysfortony@yahoo.com

If you are using the dauntless decal, where would this one go since they both seem to be oriented toward the front?.....or is it one or the other?

 

The Dauntless decal goes on the top and this one on the bottom portion.

 

I would be interested in one also. I can check the wording on my if you are missing some words.

 

Walt, there were two different dauntless aircleaner decals; one on the top and the other (same as valve cover decal) that went on the front.

With this setup, would it be dauntless decal or instruction decal (one or the other)? Or....would they be next to each other with some sort of spacing?

 

Mine had the curved Dauntless on the top but my top is smooth and not ribbed and the lettering was on the front, (since painted over). Did not have the Dauntless decal on the bottom.

check here this will get you the dauntless part of the decal. The other one with all the writing I couldn't find a picture of mine, nor do I recall if anyone found a replacement.
