2 Piece D44 '69 CJ5 Rear Axle
The dust cap is the key in denoting a 2 piece rear axle here. It's not the flat surface that the flanged axle has. Under the dust cap there is a nut that holds the hub in place on the axle shaft.
Here the nut is shown with no dust cap.
