This section of the forum has been inactive for way too long. So lets see some pictures of your trailer in action. On the trail, hauling a load of mulch, whatever you use your trailer for. Lets see it. :)

Hello I'm new to the forum...and I have plenty of trailer questions too come.

This is not really "in action" but I just picked it up on Saturday.

fellow had them made in No Cal
3 different sizes as the bed dimensions between the trailers are all different, Bantam, M416, etc.
don't know if there are any left
they sold for $400....been worth every penny for my use.

Acutally, Scott (dude with the trailer) made the lid. IIRC, he used square tubing, made a square that set on the edges of the frame, attached hinges on one side, made a couple of cross members and covered it with plywood. As for the tent, he looked into becomming a distributor for the tent company but did not find much interest. A couple of us wanted one of the tents. I like the appeal that the tint unfolds in a matter of seconds and you sleep off the ground.

For Jeeping and camping in the woods, I think this is the perfect set up........short of airlifting in a Winabago.

Great looking trailer! http://www.smileycons.com/img/emotions/87.gif I couldn't wait to get that one laid up & stripped down. If like mine it will become an old friend. I may have traded 4WDs many times and moved on, but the one one thing that remained constant thru' out the years had been "Banty" the Bantam. Great find!

I extended the hitch to make room for the propane mount, storage box and spare tire. I used hitch tubing so I can change the ends of it from an pintle hitch, to a regular ball mount or to the lock and load hitch that I am planning to buy. The frame for the tonneu cover is 3/4 inch square tubing that I made to fit on top of the bed. It is hinged on the passenger side and tilts with the help of two stuts. The Tent is a Roof Top Tent from Mombassa I believe. I got mine on sale and it was very reasonable priced compared to others on the market. I like it alot. It is very well made for the money with a heavy tent material and solid aluminum frame. There is also a three inch thick foam mattress that folds up inside of it. I connected the tent to the frame work with the Thule rack and just used the tonneau cover to keep the rain and moisture out of the trailer. As you can see from the pics I made it so I could open the top with the tent set up so I could still have access to the contents inside the trailer. I had the floor replaced and herculinered the interior and bottom of it for rust protection. I also had the frame sandblasted and powder coated. All in all it took about 6 months to build.

Cage is custom. Top likely is too. Tire carrier is a Cross Enterprises unit - I have the same on SSDutch. He added the attached rack that goes over the rear cargo area.

I had the cage built at Codys Off-road in Zeperhills Fl, the top though is actually off a 2004-06 unlimited. Fits like it was made for it with no mods. I got it brand new for 15$ dollars at a truck show in Orlando. Great eyes Mr. Boyink, the bumper is a Cross Enterprises, and I love it. Make sure you get extra frame supports though. They make it a much more solid attachement. As far as the trailer goes. I bought mine 8 years ago from a guy who collected military stuff for $350 dollars. Since then I have spent 10 times that making it look like it does now. So I have no idea where you could get one now. When I bought mine they were all but giving them away. Now, even in the worst of shape they are fetching priemium prices.

Here's mine. It's not really 'in use' but I had just done the bumpers on the CJ and then cleaned up and painted the trailer to match.

It's a 50' trailer for sure (looks great from 50' away) but it is solid and very functional so I love it. I do still need to paint the wheels white.

Great picture. It reminds me of the Led Zepplin IV album:

It sure does!

I really like your set-up!

Do you get much use out of your trailer?

I don't use it a lot. I finished it about a year ago, and I use it for hauling stuff sometimes instead of my truck, just for fun. Haven't been Jeep camping since I rebuilt it.

I have a Civilian Bantam trailer that gets used mostly for camping trips and hauling a Hobie Pro Angler kayak. Except for the Max Coupler that replaced the worn out stock Fulton hitch it is stock, the hitch is easily returned to stock as nothing was hacked up. I am the second owner, it was owned by one family for over 55 years.

I really like those Ben-Hur trailers, but seldom see them come up on the market for sale...

As my other trailer has decided to Rust In Pieces I've finally had to place my M101CDN to use. My garage furnace (http://tantel.ca/Waste%20Oil%20Furnace.html) was running low on fuel so I took yesterday off on my own personal Quest For Fire, or at least stuff that'll burn.

After spending an hour working out in the cold & dark Thursday night converting the lights to 12 volts I was legal (or at least legal enough) to take it on the road yesterday. This is what I woke up to-

Note the nice glowy tail lights :)

http://www.tantel.ca/Images/The%20Sludge%20Pile/Trailer/sm_Trailer%20at%20work_3.jpg

Found a garage a few minutes up the road with a couple hundred gallons of waste oil they didn't really feel a personal attachment to-

I like the roof top tent! I've been thinking of doing the same thing with our trailer. There's a company in Oregon that has started building roof top tents. I just checked their website and I see that they are introducing a line of off-road trailers too.

Here's the link: http://www.cascadiatents.com/
