Clutch cable conversion options?

Now that I am having SOOOOOO Much fun with my jeep trying to replace a broken clutch cable on my 71. I was wondering if there are any other options other thatn the AA conversion. I have nothing against the AA but their literature says it doesn't work with a 71'. I am going to call and find out to see what mods I would have to do to get it work. Has any one put it in their 71' and what did you have to do? Also any other options?

Jeep factory 1 piece cable; although the bracket that bolts to transfer case can be hard to find; need the frame bracket as well; cable and threaded adjuster pretty easy to find

Personally, stay with the stock one piece cable....hard to beat. Glenn

For what it is worth...I just yesterday replaced the 1 piece cable on my 71' with a cable and pulley set up. I used 2 pulleys and ran the cable thru the frame. It works great on the street so far. Can't wait to see how it works flexing. It used to be I had to almost stand up to get the clutch to work, now I can do it with my hand.

I am having the same problem with my clutch ( very hard to engage ). Did you fabricate the set up, or buy it from AA? Any pictures?

Call them, find out the difference is. I put one on my 64 with hollbrook springs, it needed a few simple mods (grinder and re-drill a hole) to get it on. It might not be a direct bolt in but possibly just slight modification to install. It's a great upgrade.

I now have the AA kit on my 71 and it works great. IIRC I had to shorten it quite a bit though! The installation was very easy and straight forward.
The pulley system I used was getting caught on the pulleys when it would get really flexed and causing the cable to break.

myself i'm thinking of doing a hydraulic conversion.from maybe a toyota or s-10
