Anyone know where I can get the wiper components for the 72-5 windshield? I have a replacement windshield but have been running without wipers and would like to finish off this part of the jeep. I know I can get a motor for about $100 off the net, but I have not been able to find any of the other components, and this year range has never shown up in the local salvage yards. Also not sure if any of the '76 up or 72 down parts like the pivots, arms, etc. would work. Ditto for the exterior motor cover.
Any help would be appreciated.

Arms, motor, and exterior motor cover in my inventory of Jeep parts. I don't think I have the pivots, but I am going from memory.

Ya, I went to jeepdoc and they had the motor, but nothing else. I only scanned the web site and didn't call yet to see if there was anything interchangeable.

You might want to think about useing a 76 and later windshield frame. there is lots more parts avalibility.

Another place to check is J&W Auto Wreckers. http://www.jwjeep.com These guys specialize in Jeeps, and they have always found what I've needed.

I'm sure that's true, but your existing top (if you have one) will no longer fit.

Used is probably your best bet. I like Scotty's in Fontana CA. You may not have to go so far afield - here's a list I found. http://www.4x44u.com/pub/k2/am4x44u/truck_tech/4x_trucks/4xtplist.htm . I've no personal experience with the list or its owners.

I've got a 76/up windshield on there already, but the glass is cracked, removing it is a pain (with the roll bar front hoop in the way), and the wiper components on it are shot. So I figured I'd just get the proper windshield setup for the Jeep since I'd be spending money anyway. I can get the frame for about 160 shipped, add rubber and gaskets and the motor. Just need the pivots and linkage along with the motor cover.
I'd also entertain the purchase of a 75 down complete setup, if anyone has one reasonably close to Minnesota (what are the chances of that!)

Bob-
I had the same problem for my 70. I emailed the regular Jeep parts sellers on ebay asking if they had wiper linkages. Finally I was able to get the long passenger side from one seller who checked his stock. And recently Ryan from www.the-jeep-guy.com/index.htm had the other shorter link. I have seen the 72-75 linkages an ebay from time to time. So, it depends how patient you are and how fast you need the wipers.
Good Luck-

I will look this weekend to see if I can dig up the linkage from the 74 windhshield that came on the 6. Going with a early top mount wiper windshield when I get the new tub so I won't be needing it. IIRC the linkage was good, but the motor was BAD.

Sorry, but couldn't let this go. I won't deal with Ryan in any way, shape, or form. He lives 6 blocks from me and I won't even sell to him, and we used to be friends from high school and after! Let's just say I had some less than stellar experiences with him while trying to do HIM a favor, and we were supposed to be friends. I've also seen how he'll buy a product from someone, then copy it and sell it on the internet and under cut the original person. We even got into an argument one day about the ethics of the way he does business, and his attitude was too bad! Haven't spoken to him since, and will not! Sorry if this sounds like sour grapes, but just can't support someone who does business like this. I'll try and get their info, but another source is J&M Jeep Parts, also located in Oregon. They may also have what you need. Nickmil.

I have a wiper motor and the linkage out of a 73. I don't know if the motor works. I don't know if all of the clips are on the linkage. I don't really want to sell them, but I am willing to take offers. Sorry if this sounds rude or unbrotherlike, but I may need them someday...
