I've got a jeepster Im building for trail use and would like to know if a CJ5 front bumper will fit? Is the frame the same at the front? Finding a bumper for a CJ will be easyer than finding one for the Jeepster. I also want to mount a winch on it. Ideas?
Thanks,
Nathan

A CJ5 bumper should fit. I've got a CJ-8 front bumper on mine right now.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be on the lookout for a CJ8 bumper with a winch plate!

Yes, the front frame horns are the same on CJ3A, CJ5, and Jeepsters thru. 1971. But, why use the thin metal ones, this is what I do. Measure the inside dimensions of the stock bumper that slips over the frame horns and how wide you want it and go to a metal shop that has a metal press that can bend 1/4 plate and have them bend you a bumper. When I was in Sacramento California there was a shop that only charged me $45.00 for bending and the metal. It looked like a stock bumper, fit the rails perfect and was way stronger that a stock one. I only had to drill holes to mount it. I use metal shops to bend metal all the time, as I don't like being forced to make something out of common stock, I rather build something that looks like the factory made it.

Stock TJ front bumpers can fit pretty well too and don't look out of place.
