Where can I find a set of hinges for a m38a1? I have tried my ususal contact for stock m38a1 parts (www.whiteowl.com) but no luck. I also tried collins borhers jeeps parts with no luck. I am starting to think that this part is going to be hard to find. Do you guys know of a different hinge that will work for the m38a1?
Thanks,
John.

Hi John,
You might want to check the following:

http://www.beachwoodcanvas.com/
http://www.midwestmil.com/
http://www.rapcopartscompany.com/faq.html
One of these sources should be able to help or point you in th eright direction. I have seen them listed on Ebay in the past. :)
Good luck. Let me know if you need help looking for other parts for your M38A1.

the hinges I am looking for are the ones for the windsheild frame.. I have the uppers from an early cj-5. Does the upper mount mount up into the windshield frame or only on the bottom of the frame?
Kross.... thanks for the info. I'll check them out.

If they are like early cj-5s, and I think they are, there is an arm that extends up into the windshield frame, with the hinge half bolting to the bottom of the frame.
the other half of the hinge bolts to the upright corners of the cowl. These are extremely hard to find parts, because nobody makes reproduction parts.

Into. They should interchange OK. Your toughest task will be in removing them from the donor 'shield frame.

John H., I am a 20 year old guy who needs some help with some questions on my newly bought 1952 M38A1... I am trying to restore it and saw your reference to archer brothers. If I describe to you what I need, can you tell me what the part is called on archers list? It seems to be the actual Windshield peices that you needed, and a set of the lower brackets that the windshield peices sit on top of. Your wisdom and exoeriance would be greatly appriciated!!!!! Thanks! - Terry... terrybender19511985@msn.com

Try Peter Debella too. http://www.debellajeepparts.com/ There's lots of places I've seen, do a Google search for "military jeep parts", or "m38a1 parts".
