I have dicided to get a Canadian 1/4 ton trailer from Cold War Remarketing up in Littleton, Colorado. But the tail light assembly has been replace with a civilian assembly. If Cold War doesn't have the originals where can I purchase them? They are similar to the tail light assembly on the M416 (in fact I think they are the same).

The M416s often come with the old style (separate lights and black out lights) or the newer combo teardrop shaped (built in black out lights)

The ones for the M101 should be the teardrop shaped ones with built in black-out lights. The current ones are the composite body. The more rugged style has an aluminum cast body. Both are the same styling though. These run about $60 (pair) on up, via Ebay or mil surp dealer.

There are LED versions (truck-lite.com) available too, but $$$$.

I am in the process of replacing mine with Gamma Goat lights. My teardrop shaped ones are claimed for already.

Good luck on whatever choice you make!

Beeser,
Yep, that's the one. Also, purchased them from Saturn Surp. If I recall they were $46ish each.

The brackets on the M101Cdn's are designed for the teardrop shaped lights. The GG lights have the same bolt pattern (3/8-16 tap @ 2" OC) but the wiring exit is closer, so the brackets need a Ø3/4" hole drilled in them.
Instead of drilling, I'm just making new one. Working in a fab shop iwth a laser has its' advantages :)

Surplus City in Oroville, CA has been selling the Canadian trailers for several years, they may have the brackets. I notice they also have a M416 listed on their site for sale http://www.surplusjeep.com/VEHICLES.htm
