I'm starting a restoration of a 64 cj5, has a koenig pto winch. Does any one know where to find parts for these winches. The handle to engage and disengage the drum has been broken off. Thanks.

I'm almost in the same boat; one of the ears which hangs over the dog clutch is broke off - has been for years. The clutch is frozen to the shaft - that's why I broke it, IIRC. I don't know if you'll find factory parts or not; seems they don't make these any more. I will have a new one fabbed up someday, shouldn't take much. But, you definitely will find lots of other help, advice, and parts resources here!! Good luck! Oh, "they" will hound the daylights out of you for pics, so...... got any??

This is a copy of a post I've saved for years. Tell me if it's still valid, Bill
Over the last two years as a member of the WT list , I have noticed many
posts about Koeing PTO winch parts, availability, etc.
Today while chasing down some parts for work I visited ACE Distributing Co,
here in Houston.
I noticed a sign placard for Koeing parts. When I inquired more, I was
told that they can still get replacement parts and new pieces
for the King - Koeing - PTO winches made in Houston.
Here is the contact information: Hope this helps those looking for parts.

Koenig is still in buisiness building winches but apparently don't make parts for thier earlier products anymore. The broken clutch levers are very common. Have a look at my web page & follow the links in the "Winch" section for more info on the Koenigs.

I've got pics!!
My Koenig king PTO had the same problem but the previous owner built up a nifty answer to the problem.<see attached pics> Actually using the free spool feature of this winch causes the winch cable to create a birdnest similar to a baitcast fishing reel, so when I need the winch I just "powerout" using the hurricane and reverse gear.
