Grant's '60 Willys

I have known this Jeep since before I could climb into it. The Jeep and I are both 1960 models. Since new, it has always been a neighborhood pet, doing chores for whoever grabbed it. Plowing snow, pulling hay wagons, pulling stumps, ect...When in high school, I swiped it one fall to run a trap line. Just the thing to get to little streams and ponds on the far sides of muddy corn lots. In the early eighties, it had a 231 V-6 swapped in. I helped make a simple adapter to mate it to the original T-98 4 speed.

WOW!!! What a difference!!! That Jeep got more miles racked up on it after that then it did all those previous years. With those 5.38 gears, it would take any Mustang or Camaro out of the hole for the first 100 feet. (I know!) Its been sitting for about 3 years now, something let go in the oil pump, sounds like the crankshaft wants to fall out of it. I have a sweet 225 in waiting, along with a Warn overdrive, possibly a switch to 4.88 gears, a disc brake D-30 front axle, a rear D-44 with flanged axles and power steering box stashed away for it. All I need is the time. (wuts that?)
